A vibratory feeder is an automatic feeding device whose task is to supply other machines or equipment with the required quantity of products to be fed.

The operator fills the feeder with a sufficient or predefined quantity of the product to be dispensed. During vibration, the products take on the desired orientation and are thereby prepared for pick-up.

The vibratory feeder operates fully automatically. The vibrating motor works on an electromagnetic principle and is controlled by an electrical controller.

Possible elements of the feeding system:

Linear track: fixed to the linear vibrator and ensures the linear movement of the products to be fed. As a connecting element, it links the vibratory bowl with the product pick-up point. At the same time, it also acts as a buffer to ensure the continuous operation of the downstream equipment.

Product detection sensor: switches off the circular vibration motor when the linear track becomes filled with products.

Linear vibrator: responsible for moving the products along the linear track.

Noise protection enclosure: reduces the noise generated by the vibratory feeder.

Vibratory bowl (plate, pot): the feeding bowl with manually designed selection tracks, responsible for orienting the products correctly for dispensing.

Fill level sensor (sensor or level probe): in case of automatic refilling of the bowl, it switches the refill controller on and off depending on the fill level of the vibratory bowl.

Circular vibration motor: the drive mechanism that ensures the upward movement of products along the selection tracks.

Base frame: typically a welded steel frame structure. Upon customer request, it can also be manufactured from aluminum profiles or the feeder system can be supplied without a frame.

Vibratory refill: lifting conveyor or vibratory refill system that increases the capacity of the vibratory bowl. Vibratory refill units range from 2.5L to 50L, while lifting conveyor bunkers range from 25L to 150L. The advantage of lifting conveyors compared to vibratory refill systems is the easier loading of products.

VIBRATORY REFILL

Lifting conveyors and vibratory refill systems

Using vibratory refill systems, the capacity of the feeding equipment can be increased. Refill systems may include lifting conveyor tracks or vibratory refill units.

Structure of a lifting conveyor: loading bunker (container) and conveyor track. The operator pours the products into the container, which are then transported via the conveyor track and fall through the chute at the end of the conveyor into the vibratory bowl. The advantage of lifting conveyors is the simple loading of products into the container.

Structure of a vibratory refill unit: container and linear vibration motor. The operator pours the products into the container, and the linear vibrator transfers them through the container outlet into the vibratory bowl.

 

SELECTORS

Separation of dispensed products

The role of selectors is to separate the dispensed products. They are used at the end of the feeding system depending on the task. Their function may also include rotating the dispensed product into the required position.
